Yes! Housekeeping is a topic and I think it should be because people only thinking Housekeeping is only about cleaning cleaning and cleaning…. Noo it's not about only cleaning it's about hygiene, maintenance, cleanliness and etc. Housekeepin not just cleanliness. It includes keeping work areas neat and orderly, maintaining halls and floors free of slip and trip hazards, and removing of waste materials (e.g., paper, cardboard) and other fire hazards from work areas. When you go to hotel or any restaurant you may think owhh it's nice hotel and all but actually this work is done by Housekeeping, you know what in hospitality industry Housekeepin  is calle as back bone of the hotel. As a human being I'm not ashamed of doing Housekeepin work. Guest should feel home away from home.The main functions of housekeeping are overall cleanliness, bed making, ensuring maintenance of the building and its infrastructure. When I was in sofitel mumbai bkc hotel that time I was aware no dude I was so wrong housekeeping is not about only wc cleaning it's about more than we think. For example when we enter in a hotel first what we see? Of course garden and you know who did this great job of gardening….horticultural and this horticultural is under a housekeeping department. Now you enter in a hotel first you will see lobby. The shining lobby is cleaned by Housekeeping department. Then You will see some flower arrangement that is done by florist and florist is under the department of housekeeping. Wherever you go in the part of hotel you will see everywhere is housekeeping department must needed. Without housekeeping nothing can be run. That's reason housekeeping is called as backbone of the hotel. In the housekeeping their is tremendous numbers of machines like vacuum cleaners, floor scrubbing machin, carpet cleaning machines and so on. In the room when we entered as room attendant in hotel that time our purpose is only guests feel home away from home. As a room attendant we have to do bed making floor Sweeping, mopping, whole bathroom cleaning, Dusting, vacuuming etc. When I was in my internship that time my sir told me the 7's in housekeeping I.e sort, systematize, sweep, standardize, safety, self-discipline and sustain. And No one can become easily housekeeping man. Their needs to be attentive, organization understanding, confidence and team managemen skills. Then only you can becom a part of housekeeping department.
