The Pakistani captain, who won't play his next T20I until the end of August, stands a good chance of being unseated by the Indian hitter.

Suryakumar Yadav has played just 20 T20I innings, but he has already accomplished enough to pass Babar Azam for first place among batters in the ICC T20I rankings. Suryakumar has moved up to No. 2 because to his most recent impressive performance, a match-winning 76 from 44 balls in the third T20I against the West Indies on Tuesday in Basseterre. With two T20Is left in the series, he is currently only two rating points behind Babar's 818.

In the ongoing series against West Indies, he got off to a poor start alongside skipper Rohit Sharma as the opening batsman, registering a 16-ball 24 and a six-ball 11. However, he showed up in the third game, taking the starring role as India easily defeated West Indies' 164 for 5 with an over remaining. As a result, he moved up from No. 4 to No. 2, surpassing Aiden Markram and Mohammad Rizwan, who are now Nos. 3 and 4, respectively. Dawid Malan is ranked fifth.

Suryakumar made his debut for India only last year, and as of this writing, he has 648 T20I runs at an average of 38.11 and a strike rate of 175.60. He made a significant rise in the rankings last month. When he defeated England at Trent Bridge with 117 to earn his first T20I century. Suryakumar rose an astounding 44 spots to No. 5 on the table as a result of the innings.

In the meantime, Babar is the only batter currently ranked in the top three across all international formats (No. 1 in ODIs and T20Is and No. 3 in Tests). With India still having two games remaining to play in the West Indies and Pakistan's next T20I match being at the Asia Cup at the end of August, where they will face India, he may not lose the top rank in T20Is right away.

After three Twenty20 Internationals, in which India has a 2-1 series lead, Akeal Hosein has climbed three spots to No. 6 among bowlers with stat lines of 1 for 14, 1 for 22, and 1 for 28.

Reeza Hendricks' string of 57, 53, and 70 helped the visitors win the series 2-1 while South Africa was in England for T20I matches in late July, and he has moved up to No. 15 as a result. Tristan Stubbs, a rookie, too had a stunning rise in position thanks to his 72, 15 not out, and 8 as he rocketed to 126th place and an amazing 1404 spots up the table.
