What Is Food ??

Food is one of the basic necessities of life. Food contains nutrientsā€”substances essential for the growth, repair, and maintenance of body tissues and for the regulation of vital processes. Nutrients provide the energy our bodies need to function. The energy in food is measured in units called calories

Kinds of Nutrients

Glucose 
Our body uses carbohydrates, primarily found in grains like rice and noodles, as one of its main energy sources. In addition, carbs can also be found in other foods like fruit, dairy products, root vegetables, and dry beans. 
Proteins 
Good sources of protein include meat, fish, shellfish, eggs, dairy products, dry beans, and bean products. Its primary duties include constructing, mending, and preserving healthy bodily tissues. 
Fat
Edible oils, meat, dairy products, nuts, and seeds are among the foods that contain fats. One type of energy source is fat. In extremely cold temperatures, they stop heat loss and shield vital organs from shock. They are in charge of assembling some of the cells in our bodies and delivering fat-soluble vitamins like A, D, and E.

Cereal Grains

Cereal grains such as wheat, rice, barley, oats, millet and quinoa are staple foods worldwide, providing essential nutrients and energy Carbohydrates, fiber and essential vitamins and minerals and are the basis of many foods. Whole grains in particular provide great health benefits, such as digestion, heart health, and reduced risk of chronic diseases Versatile and adaptable grains can be eaten in a variety of ways, In addition to providing food for humans, cereal grains and their byproducts also feed livestock including hogs, poultry, and cattle. 
 

Milk and Dairy Products

Dairy product, milk and any of the foods made from milk, including butter, cheese, ice cream, yogurt, and condensed and dried milk. Milk has been used by humans since the beginning of recorded time to provide both fresh and storable nutritious foods.
Dairy products and milk are good sources of lipids, proteins, carbs, and important vitamins and minerals. Milk is a staple meal and makes up a large portion of the diet of the Maasai people of East Africa. In several regions of the Middle East and India, yogurtā€”a fermented milk productā€”is a staple diet.
