Hello everyone, hope u all good. This blog is about to tell a 2 minutes view of the movie Mark Antony.
This movie travels with a story of Mark, a mechanic who makes a time travel machine to know about his late father Antony, a ruthless gangster……
Mark Antony Movie Review: It's good to see the filmmakers here continue to try to explore the time travel genre that we've been following for a while. In most of these themes, the protagonist plays the role of using a time machine to try to change the past. Director Adhik Ravichandran's Mark Antony's Protagonist does the same, but what's special here is the story, the treatment, the direction, the performances, and the chaotic retro visuals.
In the very first scene, we meet Chiranjeevi (Selvaraghavan), a scientist who has invented a telephone that can travel back in time. Anyone with access can call and communicate with people from the past. Twenty years later, in 1995, we get to see Mark (Vishal), son of the late gangster Antony (Vishal) and Jackie (SJ Suryah), a ruthless gangster who is waiting to seek revenge for the death of his close friend Antony. While Mark grows up to be a mechanic by profession, Jackie's son, Madhan Pandy (SJ Suryah) is a wannabe gangster.
rk believes that his father Antony is the reason behind his mother's death. However, his life takes a turn when he discovers a time machine in his garage. As Mark gets an opportunity to communicate with people associated with his father in the past, he realises that Antony is not someone who he believes to be. He learns about his father and many other events that have been hidden for many years. Will Mark be able to overcome all odds to change certain events in the past and bring his father back to life?
Without logic, Mark Antony is just looking for two and a half hours of uninterrupted entertainment. It definitely works for people. While Adhik's narration style helps to an extent, it's SJ Suryah's quirky performance that keeps us hooked throughout. For example, the scene where SJ Surya's son tries to communicate with him in the future is so entertaining that the audience is in for a treat. There is no difference in the plot and it follows the usual template of gangster dramas, but Adik puts all his skills into the visual design and effective direction of the important action sequences.
From the beginning, the director creates the perfect atmosphere for this strange sci-fi drama through the characters and the rich background music. Sometimes you just want to pick up the remote and turn down the volume, but without GV Prakash's touch, that particular moment definitely wouldn't have worked. The idea of bringing back actress Silk Smita, who died in a very important scene, is very welcome.
But the climax is chaotic. Also pay attention to Anthony's reappearance at the end.
Vishal is on par with SJ Suryah when it comes to performance and their scenes together are fun to watch. Ritu Varma, who plays Mark's girlfriend, played what was expected of her character despite having less screen time.
Mark Antony is not a wow factor movie, but it's a refreshing entertainer that delivers what it promises.
