Kill Boksoon Movie Summary And Review!!

Expectations for this Korean mother-daughter assassin drama should be established by the opening scene of "Kill Boksoon," which features a stunning but underwhelming fight to the death. The title of the movie also refers to the renowned hitwoman Gil Bok-soon (Jeon Do-yeon), a single mother who now feels distant from her teenage daughter Gil Jae-young (Kim Si-a).

It starts with some overly kind words between two murderers, moves on to some funny hard-boiled banter, then finishes suddenly after some well-timed punches.

With how much dramatic emphasis is placed on conversation and how fast the fight finishes when it begins, viewers may not be left with a strong impression despite the snap and intensity of the fight choreography and directing in this scene. You could have different experiences, but if you were thinking "Kill Boksoon" would focus more on violent action and less on hit individuals who are unable to express their emotions, you'll likely be let down.

The working life of Bok-soon represents MK and is revered as a hero by its staff members, who are either given a letter grade or are in training.

MK exercises a monopoly on the hit person industry, and its leader, Chairman Cha (Sol Kyung-gu), makes three rules:

1) No kids,

2) No “events” that aren’t sanctioned by MK,

3) you must try to do the job which is given by MK.

As a result, Bok-soon is separated from her peers by a professional (and social) hierarchy. In an early scene, her peers congregate at a bar and mostly complain to one another about MK's regulations and power structures. Bok-soon often brushes off such little issues, like the passive-aggressive remarks made by Hee Sung (Koo Kyo-hwan), a rising star at the MK agency.

The strange laws that govern the universe of our anti-heroine are the focus of "Kill Boksoon." While deeper emotional ties are frequently hinted at and several supporting characters lament the passing of a more chivalrous period, action movie fans may be reminded of the "John Wick" films.

While working, Bok-soon often thinks about her affection for Jae-young, especially when she is paired with Kim Young-ji (Lee Yeon), a would-be hit woman. Over time, the action sequences will have to speak more than the characters, and neither the characters nor the audience feels as though this is a wonderful emotional release.

Even if only for its unexpected sensitivity and wide emotional range, "Kill Boksoon" is nonetheless amazing.

The Movie represents parenting as the challenging part whereas killing is easy.

It is gratifying and leaves behind enough pieces for a continuation. Now available on Netflix is the movie Kill Boksoon.
