People love travelling generally. But what about solo travelling? I find this concept of solo travelling as interesting as allegorical. Life itself is a solo journey done by us. And we are the solo traveller in this journey of life. Literally, solo travelling refers to going on a trip without having any other companion. You are your own companion here. Travelling around the planet brings joy and adds value to the life of those with restless feet. Still solo travelling is special and exceptional in many ways. Solo travelling can be the ultimate in self indulgence. Now a days, a number of explorers are taking their routes by themselves. Therefore, today I will discuss about some benifits of solo travelling.
1. Planning according to the wish- When you go for a trip with other people you have to consider other people's timing and problems . But when you are on a solo trip you need not to be restricted by others. You can do all the planning by yourself. Where to go? When to rest? When to pamper yourself through reading books? All these are in your hands and you can arrange your planning according to your wish.
2. Meeting new people- When you are with others during a trip, you intend to be associated with your group. But being a solo traveller you are forced to come out from your comfort zone and you try to make new friends. Having friends in a foreign country helps you to feel at home. Travelling helps you to know a new place and meeting new people helps you to understand the customs of the people of the place.
3. Beneficial for self-growth- Travelling throws many challenges before you. When you are a solo traveller, you have to be the decision maker. That's why you have to be aware of all the happenings around you. When you face any problem, you need to keep your head cool to think about how to sort out the problems. These learnings of problem solving and decision making are great life skills in wider aspect and contribute to the self development in a positive way.
4. Boost up self confidence- Solo travelling often pushes you to go beyond your capabilities to cope up with the challenges and obstacles. It helps you to grow as a strong, confident person. Navigating unknown culture in an unknown territory boosts up your confidence level. This sense of achievement makes you feel empowered and independent.
5. Time for introspection- Solo travelling gives you an exposure to search your inner self in solitude, when you are far from the busy life and responsibilities. It encourages you to overcome your certain boundaries and fears. And when you contemplate on your own capabilities that has been recently explored you feel a positive spark within. You become more conscious of who you are and who you want to be.
