Hie guys, hope you all are having a great weekend. I'm having a lazy one this time😅. 

As you all know I'm a doc doing my internship. From September 1st  I have been posted in medical camps in near by villages. 

So yesterday I went to one of these camps and unfortunately there was a construction going near by and it was so loud and so much mess around us. It was even difficult to communicate with the patients who were sitting right in front of us. 

We reached the camp place at 10:30am and was setting up our equipment n medications, there comes this man waggling around us and mumbling some random stuff. At first we thought that he was drunk and it is very common in rural areas to face such kind of people. We mostly ignore them and get immersed in our work. The same we did with him. 

Patients started coming slowly and there is a monthly check up of government school kids of that village, thus I visited the school with my manager just to know whether kids are doing well or anyone needs any treatment. We went from class 8th to preschool, class by class, kids were just roaming around outside the class. Seeing me as a outsider made them alert and few kids were mischievous. We got around 25 kids to be sick with coryza, toothache, diarrhea etc. 

We both got the kids to the camp and started taking cases and prescribing. The same man about whom I was talking before has entered the case taking room without permission and was just moving around. So most of the times we get to settle our camp place in grama panchayat office. The office room is our case taking room for that day. There were lots of books in the shelve regarding the village or some freedom fighter books as such. This man entered room and went near the shelve and removed a book and started reading. To my surprise he was reading outside both english and vernacular language books fluently. He was reading but jumping from one book to the other randomly and quickly. I couldn't focus that much as I was having atleast 10-15 patients on my side in a que for consultation. 

When all the patients were done consulting, the room was empty. Me, my friend and our physician were just taking some air after the crowd has gone out. This man suddenly stood up and sat in a chair in front of me. I know what he was trying to do, so I just ignored as usual. 

He just started asking me to check Blood pressure of his and started asking me questions about some medical stuff regarding vaccines and all. Right before I would answer him or say something, he would answer to his own question and to my surprise he knows exact answer to the question. He seems to be around 26-28 yrs old. I just called upon my incharge and he took away this man with his instincts. He was talking about cinema actors with our incharge. Later he went away to his home may be. 

Once the camp has came to an end, we started packing up all things into our van. Again this man entered the area again and started talking to our van driver regarding engines n mechanical questions as such. We were just giggling around as his target now is our van driver uncle. 

After that he just left once we started, on the way back to our hospital, I was just thinking how can a young man become insane with so much of knowledge, may be I don't know regarding few. He must have dreamt of great life and used to work hard for his career but once when he got addicted to alcohol or may be some tragedy in his life would have made him like this. I felt so sorry to giggle at some person's life who his intelligent at one time and become insane now. 

Thus life is unpredictable, we may not be the same always. There is a slight thread difference between being a genius and being a insane, that is being conscious about present which is lost by a insane person but this will not make him less genius, the only thing that hurt is there will be no proper use of this intelligence anymore. There are lots of people as such in many rural areas. Hope there is a NGO at some place working on them, hopefully I'm thinking of one 🤞.
