Hie girls and also guys who would like to share this knowledge with their moms or sisters or life partners. In this blog, I will share my medical as well as empirical/traditional knowledge for maintaining vaginal hygiene. Let us get into it.
The Internet has become a very helpful means for today's girls to make them understand the importance of vaginal hygiene. In past, it was not a part of the discussion either. Let me also bust few myths about vaginal hygiene.
Most of the girls feel that shaving off the pubic hair maintains hygiene. But girls that's not true, pubic hair is necessary because they help us to maintain the proper temperature for the menstrual cycle to happen regularly and also traps microbes to prevent any infections.
But one point to be noted is that we need to clean the pubic hair on daily basis.
In my opinion, proper water wash is enough.
As all know any sought of sanitary pad/tampon/menstrual cup needs to be changed at least every 6-8 hours. This will prevent most of the medical issues. Every time you change make sure to wash the area with water.
Regarding the sanitary pads, I would say most natural ones to be preferred. I am not promoting any brands but through my personal experience ‘Stayfree’ seems to be more natural with fewer chemicals. Menstrual cups are gaining their importance day today and seem to be the most natural way and also it helps to reduce plastic usage and promote global welfare.
Here I'm speaking about the cloth that covers the vagina. Cotton cloth is more good and comfortable than silk/nylon, as cotton allows air to pass by and keep the area healthy. Tight wear is not recommended as it lessens the blood circulation to that area.
Usually, we experience this during or after menses due to chemicals present in pads. We shouldn't scratch the area at any cost as it makes the condition worse. Wash the area with turmeric water (a pinch of turmeric mixed in a mug of water ) regularly, turmeric acts as an antibiotic and helps to reduce the itching sensation. Though this is a traditional method it is more helpful than applying itching creams or lotions.
That's it girls, these are the basic tips to maintain vaginal hygiene :)
