To me, the "blue hydrangea" sounds like Lana is recalling memories of her partner - bits from their time together.

The first verse starts with the words, "Do you want me or not?" "I heard one thing, and now I am hearing another." This line could indicate Lana's questioning about her current relationship. Lana Del Rey is one of the most inventive writers I've ever heard. Her music is so descriptive that it's almost like a visual and auditory experience. I can close my eyes and imagine the story.
