Friends welcome to another blog of mine, in this blog I am going to talk about Shivratri which means the night of lord shiva. It is one of the major festivals of Hindu people and it is a festival of solemn this festival also marks the overcome of darkness and ignorance in the world this day marks the remembrance of Lord Shiva by activities like chanting prayers, fasting, and meditating that leads to ethics such as non-injury to others, charity, forgiveness according to beliefs this festival originated in the 5th century. The people of the south celebrate this festival on the day of Chaturdashi, all over the country temples are decorated with lights and flowers, and devotees give offerings to the lord in the form of flowers, milk, and fruits. well as we all know this festival has great importance in Hindu culture this devotee spends all night singing songs of lord shiva. If we believe the Hindu solar calendar Maha Shivratri is a celebration of 3 to 10 days it is believed that chanting the Lord Shiva Mantra Om Namah Shivaay pleases Lord Shiva and he fulfills all the wishes of his devotees. According to the legends, Shivaratri is the night when Lord Shiva performs the dance of creation, preservation, and destruction. Chanting of hymns, reading the Shiva sculptures leads to a belief in Shiva’s presence everywhere. According to another belief, this day is celebrated as the wedding anniversary of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati another part of this festival is the dance where dances are performed temples like Khajuraho, Chidambaram, and this event is called Natyanjali means to worship through dance at the Chidambaram temple which defines “worship through dance” and all of this above Khajuraho Temple also organizes a dance festival accept this celebration the highlight of this festival is Mandi fare organized at Mandi (H, P) that transform the town into a devotee fare Mandi is said to be the oldest town with a belief of presence of more than 200 gods and goddess visit the town on that day the other part of the country where the celebration of this festival is very special is Kashmir, where Shivratri is known as Harath in Kashmiri Harath, it  comes from a word Hara which is also another name of Lord Shiva well it will sound interesting  Shivratri is treated as the one of the most important festivals for Kashmiri community. So once again a happy Shivratri to all the readers may Lord Shiva full all your wishes.

HAPPY SHIVRATRI

Mahashivratri, “The Great Night of Shiva” is a night of special spiritual significance. Sadhguru explains why Mahashivratri is celebrated and how we can make use of this possibility. Mahashivratri, “The Great Night of Shiva” is the most significant event in India’s spiritual calendar. Shivratri, is the darkest day of the month. Celebrating Shivratri on a monthly basis, and the particular day, Mahashivratri, almost seems like celebration of darkness. Any logical mind would resist darkness and naturally opt for light. But the word “Shiva” literally means “that which is not.” “That which is,” is existence and creation. “That which is not” is Shiva. “That which is not” means, if you open your eyes and look around, if your vision is for small things, you will see lots of creation. If your vision is really looking for big things, you will see the biggest presence in the existence is a vast emptiness. Indian culture, all the ancient prayers were not about saving yourself, protecting yourself or doing better in life. All the ancient prayers have always been “Oh lord, destroy me so that I can become like yourself.” So when we say Shivratri, which is the darkest night of the month, it is an opportunity for one to dissolve their limitedness, to experience the unboundedness of the source of creation which is the seed in every human
