The British Library (United Kingdom) I am going to start with the British Library which was founded in 1973 with more than 200 million items including 13 million books and e-books with an average number of 1.6 million visitors in a day with 9,000 active members and the library have a big building with an area of 1,12,000 sq m and 14 floors
Library of Congress (United States) Next on this list is the Library of Congress which was founded in 1800 unfortunately, this library was destroyed during the war of 1812 but the library enabled to restored to restore its collection in 1815 one of the main purposes behind starting this library was to provide service to people like government agencies, scholars and the general public and accept all of this it holds a collection of 110 million items
SHANGHAI LIBRARY (CHINA) On No 3 is Shanghai Library from China founded in the year 1847 and took 44 years to build and including a collection of 8,35,000 books out of which 4,00,000 are Chinese papers from the period 1911 to 1949 and not only this also have 20,000 Chinese newspapers and journals published after 1949 and this is a library with two buildings with a total square space 83,000 square meters with a two-tower building with 11 and 24 floors buildings respectively
NEW YORK PUBLIC LIBRARY (UNITED STATES) Well its time to visit the New York Public library was built in the year 1895, it was built with a budget of 3 million dollars consists of a huge collection of more than 50 million, and has almost 100 branches in the state its biggest branch is located in Manhattan this library was also famous as “Google of America” shows how great this library is.
LIBRARY AND ACHIEVERS CANADA (CANADA) Last but not the least in the 5th spot we have Library and achievers Canada founded in the year 1952 if we talk about the collection of books which is 54 million in numbers and this Library was made with a budget of more than $86 million dollars for Canadian it is not just a library it is the way of preserving their culture LAC also serves as a continuing memory of Canadian government and its history and heritage
