RRR Story: Ramaraju and Bheem become fast friends after meeting in Delhi. What happens when they discover one other's actual motives?

RRR Evaluation: The last time filmmaker SS Rajamouli dazzled audiences was in 2017 with Baahubali: The Conclusion. It took him five arduous years to conceptualise, shoot, and distribute his next feature, RRR (also dubbed in Hindi). Pulling off a multi-starrer starring Jr NTR and Ram Charan may appear to be a feat in and of itself. Even when it comes to the story, Rajamouli manages to deliver.
RRR is based on a straightforward principle. There's 'fire' - Ramaraju (Ram Charan), an enraged young police officer who is both

The dizzyingly over-the-top action sequences and exuberant musical numbers in this Telugu-language big-budget spectacular featuring Tollywood celebrities N.T. Rama Rao Jr. and Ram Charan as revolutionaries battling against the British Raj in 1920 will send fans into a frenzy. RRR has become one of India's highest-grossing films of all time and is now gaining Oscar talk due to its wild entertainment for every minute of its three-hour-plus running duration.

Although the main characters are based on real-life historical figures, RRR (the term stands for "Rise, Roar, Revolt") is entirely fictitious, as one of the most lengthy introductory disclaimers ever seen onscreen emphasises. (We're also informed that all of the creatures in the picture, of which there are many, are entirely CGI. Which is unquestionably beneficial to them.)

The main protagonists are introduced in two bravura action sequences before the opening credits, which don't show until about 40 minutes into the film. Ramo Rao Jr. plays Bheem, a big Gond tribal member who seeks to trap a wolf only to find himself in hand-to-paw fight with a raging tiger, which he manages to conquer by a combination of brute force and cunning.

The dance-off between Raju and Bheem and the rhythmically challenged Brits in "Naatu" would have made MGM's Arthur Freed proud. (I watched the movie on Netflix and can only speculate as to the level of pandemonium the moment must have caused in theatres.)

In every brilliantly colourful, overcrowded frame, director Rajamouli, who has already produced three of India's highest-grossing films in only seven years, shows his apparent love of popular film. No matter how blatant the CGI or aerial wire work is at times, or how frequently slow motion verges on comedy. Everything is presented in such a visually stunning way that your eyes are satisfied before your brain has a chance to object.

And the two consistently charming leads
