Directed and co-wrote by Lokesh Kanagaraj, 'Leo' is a highly anticipated upcoming Tamil action thriller. The film features Thalapathy Vijay in the main lead role. It marks Lokesh's second collaboration with Vijay after the blockbuster Master. On 30 Jan 2023, makers, Seven Screen Studios officially announced the film. It had been in production for nearly a month. The shooting commenced on 2 Jan 2023 and is expected to conclude in May 2023. Earlier, it was tentatively titled Thalapathy 67, the official title 'Leo' was unveiled by Lokesh on Feb 3, 2023. The film is touted to be an extension of Loki cinematic universe. Leo Theatrical Release Date Leo is scheduled to release in cinemas on 19 Oct 2023. Apart from Tamil, it is expected to be released in dubbed versions including Telugu, Hindi and Kannada languages.Star Cast of Leo Vijay, who was last seen in one of the highest grossers of 2023, Varisu, will be seen in the lead protagonists role in Leo. PS-1 fame Trisha will play the lead actress opposite Vijay. And Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt will play the lead antagonist in the movie. It also has Arjun, Priya Anand, Mysskin, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mansoor Ali Khan, Sandy Master, Mathew Thomas, Babu Antony, Manobala in pivotal roles. Leo Budget and Pre-Release Business As per the telugu trade circle reports, Leo will be made on a budget of 250 crores. And that, it has already earned a staggering 246 crores. The reports also states that with the sale of its theatrical rights, Leo will achieve a pre-release recovery of Rs 400 Cr. It sold the digital rights for 150 Cr to netflix (all languages), Satellite rights for Rs 80 Cr to Sun Tv and Music rights for Rs 18 Cr to Sony Music.
