How Much Drama Is Too Much Drama?

Hello fellow readers! I am here with another write up and with a topic that we can all associate with. In the topic I asked how much drama is too much drama? Now in the topic I am not talking about drama in our personal lives because it doesn't end ever, but I am talking about the drama in our television industry. We as Indians have variety of shows to watch and to learn from. We have reality shows again mixed with drama and fictional series that are pure work of imagination but just to add a little spice to the story the writers go to any extent.

As a child I had always wanted to be an actor. Participating in plays, doing theatres gave me a confidence and assurance that I am meant to be an actor. Then one day while I was watching T.V with my aunt, the show “Sasural Simar ka” was going on. Saree clad women, with arms full of bangles, neck adorning beautiful necklaces, earlobes trying hard to hold on the heavy earrings, beautiful settings but these women are cooking. With hair open, full makeup they are cooking. That too breakfast. I wondered at what time did they wake up. Because then they must have to freshen up, bathe and that makeup and all would have taken a lot. So how do they manage so well? After a while I watched the show again, but this time Simar and Roli along with their husbands were trying to protect their family from super natural entities. There was a nagin too and here I gave up my dream of becoming an actor. If such shows will continue I am sorry I even thought of becoming an actor.

Such shows start with a noble notion that they want us to show the hardships in people's lives and all but from where does the naagin come? Why every time a person is dying he actually isn't dying but he or she will return after years while their spouses would have remarried. Why is Rashi so cunning to take out all the chanas from the cooker and put it empty on the gas stove? Isn't she afraid of dying? And why is Gopi bahu so dumb that she washed her husband's laptop. What does all these shows try to portray? That if you are illiterate than you are dumb too? Because then you wouldn't know what to wash and what should not be washed. Why do all these females have so much time to plot against someone else? So tell me how much drama is too much drama?
