Body shaming isn't always about judging someone for their weight or height. If you explore it then there are umpteen layers covering the principal issue. But the question that arises is why do we have to shame someone? Just because they are different from what we are? Are there any norms decided which when matched validates one's beauty? The answer is NO! But everyone is enslaved to their habits one of which is Body Shaming.
Family gatherings are the worse. You are aware that you'll be judged no matter what reason. You lost weight โOh! One can be carried away by a strong windโ or you gained weight then they won't miss any opportunity to remind you that. You'll be laughed upon because you are too short for your age or too tall. If you have a fair complexion then you must be so arrogant and if you are dark then I don't even want to write what one could hear. The worst part is you can't answer back. Not because you don't want to but because you have been taught that you shouldn't as it's our way of showing respect towards our elders. And we all know how lame that is.
Stand up for yourself every time. God made us the way we are today. Don't raise fingers at others for their appearance. Because that makes you the worst. Commenting on the features or things that one can never change is pathetic. Hold a mirror and look at yourself if you say you are perfect then that's your confidence but not the reality. Nobody is perfect. But everyone deserves to be loved. Our imperfections make us who we are. Be humble and proud of who you are. Love yourself, your body, that's your home, your temple. Fight back every time it is required. One can not run away from the truth better accept it. I am short, say petite but no matter how hard I exercise or how long I cry I am not going to be tall the next day. I will only have puffy eyes from all the crying which nobody would want. The world is a hard place to be. Let's try to make it easier for the people around. Let's spread love. And also let's live and should let others live
