When we talk about abuses we can classify them widely into three main categories:
There are many more kinds to it but here we will discuss only these three. When it comes to physical abuse it means one is constantly hit by the other person. Such cases are mostly heard in a relationship or in a marriage. An abusive partner is someone who wouldn't refrain from hitting you even on the slightest inconvenience. Females have been surviving such abusive relationships for long but the fact that only females are the victims is wrong. Men are victim too. Men are also being hit by their partners. The fear of one's partner and the society pressurizes the victims to keep their mouths mum. It takes a lot of courage to stand up against the evil and even more courage when when is aware of the trash that people will talk. And when it comes to men it's much more agonizing. Because since centuries we have been told and made understood that a man is the strongest. Physically, emotionally as well as mentally.
Sexual abuse needs no clarification. When one is touched inappropriately or forced to make intimate relations it is defined as sexual abuse. The rapes, the molestation, groping are such examples. Now I do not deny the fact that the no. of female victims is much larger than that of males. But yes males are victims too. To understand this better we all know that daily newspapers are filled with the cases of rapes, or of kidnapping and there are cases that are not even covered by media. But we are aware that evil is happening. But are we aware that the same crime that is happening to our men? The statistics are low but that doesn't mean the crime doesn't exist. When a boy is harassed what is he suppose to tell? And above it who is going to believe him?
Emotional abuse is when someone manipulates the other person in doing what he wants to do in the name of love. Quitting one's habits is the most difficult thing and when you are forced to amend those habits for someone may be you will do that happily but are you getting the same in return? Mental health is one of the most important thing to achieve these days. Someone pulling you down because of your looks or your accent or your education or your finances can dampen your peace. There are many other factors too which people can use against you to pull you down. Like in the case of females everybody wants a woman who is beautiful, fair, does know how to cook or to sew or to clean, knows how to handle babies or guests, and brings a lot of dowry. And trust me for men also the norms are the same. He should be tall, handsome, providing, though knowing basic skills isn't important for him. If he earns good then all the flaws can be concealed. But what if he is short, dark, doesn't earn well? Then society will keep taunting and person would hate himself or herself till death.
