Healthy Nutritious Moringa Bread Recipe

Have you ever hear about nutritional properties of moringa leaves? Yes, moringa leaves are rich source of many nutrients like Iron, calcium, vitamin C and fibre.

What if we add these nutritional rich leaves to our daily foods? 

Due to modernization many natural foods are processed and made artificial. These processed foods have artificial flavours and preservatives which are not healthy to consume daily.

Bread is a staple food. If we add a healthy ingredient moringa leaves to our bread it not only increases the palatability of bread but also improves it's nutritional composition.

This type of addition of an ingredient to our daily foods is called traditional fortification. Fortification helps in providing extra nutrients to our foods to tackle the nutritional deficiencies.

Now, I'm going to give a recipe which can be prepared easily and also nutritious.

Moringa bread is prepared by following a sequential steps as follows:

Firstly, we need ingredients like Moringa leaf powder, All purpose flour, yeast, powdered sugar, ghee, pinch of salt and warm milk.

Moringa leaf powder is made by extracting leaves and cleaned with plain water. Later moringa leaves are air dried and then sun-dried. After complete loss of moisture, the leaves are added to a blender and made into a fine powder and then sieved. 

Step-1 : take warm milk ina bowl and add 2 tbsp of sugar and 2tbsp of yeast, close the lid and allow it to ferment for 10 minutes.

Step- 2 : After fermentation add all purpose flour and powdered sugar slowly into the bowl and mix it to make a dough.

Step- 3: knead the dough for 15 to 20 minutes and place the dough in the centre of bowl and close the lid then allow it to rest for 45 minutes.

Step- 4 : take a bread mould and grease it with ghee or oil. After resting, transfer the dough into a bread mould and close the lid and rest the dough for few minutes.

Step- 5 : Apply ghee on the top of the dough and bake it in a preheated oven at 360 degree Fahrenheit for 30 minutes.

Step- 6 : After baking de-mould the bread, allow it to cool or you can cover it with a wet cloth for few minutes then cut the bread into your desired shapes and serve.

That's it. Healthy nutritious bread is made easily with 6 simple steps at home.
