How To Overcome Loss

Hi everyone. Welcome you to my third blog. 

At some point in our lives, we all have experienced some sort of loss , grief, seperation. The most difficult part more than the actual loss is how to overcome it. Some people find it extremely difficult to cope with it. 

Talking about the present scenario , when people all over the globe are stuck in the pandemic and many of them have lost their loved ones, it becomes very essential to understand various ways by which we can overcome loss and grief. 

So lets have a look at a few ways by which you can overcome loss. 

Tip 1 : Donot isolate yourself. Its is going to be tough but you have to accept the presence of other people around you. There is a possibility that you might not like to talk to anyone but that's not the right way. Accept messages, condolences. Message someone you can talk to. Call , text , video call somebody whom you feel like talking. 

Tip 2 : Remember time is the only healer. Your healing process is not going to be instant. It will be slow but don't loose hope. With passage of time you will start feeling better. Do not be too hard on yourself. Let your mind accept the hard emotions, pain and suffering.

 Tip 3 : Take out 15 to 20 minutes everyday and pause . Listen to some calming music or indulge in some small activity. You can practice yoga or meditation. Stay away from your phone or TV. Quit social media for some time. Do not listen to news. It can be depressing. 

Tip 4 : Do not starve. Eat and drink daily. Keep your body hydrated. Do not skip on eating whenever you are sad or depressed. You need to make your body strong for coping up with the loss and suffering. It may be difficult initially but you have to be stronger. 

Tip 5 : Do not compromise on sleep. Many a times we don't sleep because we constantly dream about the person we have lost. But this is not correct. Dreams are bound to come . They can be overwhelming. It is a mechanism used by body to clam down and heal.

Tip 6 : Go out for a walk. It will help you to relax and lower down stress. Take a shower, indulge in your favourite activity . You can cook something etc. Move your body . Do not push yourself to stay inside. Doing so will help you to calm down. It will release your body from tensions.
