Some Interesting Facts About Matrix Movies

One thing that might shock fans to know is that this science fiction heavy film series has several loose connections to the Bible. The films have several biblical references that can be found in the film. Some are well known, such as the name of Morpheus's ship The Nebuchadnezzar, which is named after King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon from the Book of Daniel. However, there are some that only truly observant fans will notice.

The sad but true reality of our world is that people tend to use films, television, video games and more to fuel their own dark desires and demons. We've seen it happen time and again. These films are fun and entertaining, and yet those who aren't able to discern fiction from reality fall deep into these beliefs that the films are real. Believe it or not, not everything inspired by The Matrix has been a good thing. Several people around the world believe that we are actually living in a massive computer simulation, and some of those people have used this theory to justify horrible crimes. In several successful defenses, admitted attackers told the courts that they only committed the heinous crimes because they truly believed they were living in The Matrix. This has led to not guilty verdicts, as it's viewed as essentially an insanity plea. Not exactly what Neo had in mind.

Or Superman without Metropolis? James Cameron's Avatar film became an instant hit, not only because of the powerful story and rich characters he helped bring to life, but because of the lush settings that he helped bring to the big screen. One of the things that make the Matrix stand out are its incredibly rich settings. Although filmed in Australia, the film is supposed to take place in an American ghetto style location. You can tell this by looking at the worn down buildings and trash littered streets, which is what most ghetto urban city landscapes have. However Australia proved to be too nice a location to shoot, and the decayed buildings and setting had to be built from scratch from the production team.

One of the most iconic scenes of the franchise has to be when Neo fights hundreds of copies of Agent Smith in The Matrix Reloaded. This is the moment where Neo and his allies learn that Agent Smith has somehow survived being ended by Neo in the first film, and is slowly infecting the Matrix with his code. Neo is forced to fight for his life as copy after copy comes after him, forcing him to utilize all of his skills as The One to fight them off. The special effects and fight scene itself are beautiful to watch unfold in this scene, and while it's not surprising it took a while to perfect, it is shocking just how long it took to film. In total it took 27 days to film. This is the same length of time some feature-length films take to film altogether.
