The 'Indian' hackers removed the website after receiving a warning and expressing their displeasure with the Canadian government's claims regarding the murder of Nijjar. The 'Indian' hackers temporarily took down the official website of the Canadian Armed Forces, according to The Telegraph, escalating tensions between India and Canada over the murder of secessionist leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar. According to reports, "Indian Cyber Force" attacked the website and then released a screenshot of the result on X (previously Twitter). On September 21, the hacker collective issued a threat to potentially target Canadian cyberspace with the phrase "get ready to feel the power." It complained the following day about Justin Trudeau's "allegations and anti-India politics."The outage started at noon and was later fixed, according to Daniel Le Bouthillier, the Department of National Defence's chief of media relations, in an interview with The Globe and Mail. The site was inaccessible on the majority of mobile devices, save from a few destop users. The top official, however, said that the brief breach of their networks had no wider implications. The compromised website is a distinct entity from the public websites and internal networks of the Canadian government and its National Defence Department. The Canadian Forces, which include the Canadian Navy, special command groups, air and space operations, are actively looking into the situation. The dispute between India and Canada escalated after Trudeau said in a speech to a special session of parliament that his government had "credible allegations" that operatives from New Delhi had carried out the murder of Khalistani leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
On June 18, two unidentified males shot and killed Nijjar in the parking lot of the Guru Nanak Gurdwara Sahib in Surrey, Canada. He was allegedly associated with the Khalistan separatist movement, had faked his identity, and obtained Canadian citizenship.
The diplomatic dispute between India and Canada is influencing how India interacts with the rest of the West. Union External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar stated that "political convenience" should not be tolerated while deciding how to respond to terrorism and extremism during his speech to the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
Now this dispute would affect the livelihood of Indians who are living in Canada, there is a saying that states “Expect the Unexpected”,likewise people would have not thought that these friendly nation would face each other in a diplomatic issue, lets wait for the better news stating the unity between these two nations.
