An Avocado: What Is It? 

The fruit of the avocado is bright green, leathery-skinned, and has a big pit. It is often referred to as butter fruit or alligator pear. Produce department favourites include avocados. Avocado Oil

The avocado fruit is used to extract oil. It's a favourite cooking oil because of its high smoke point and mild taste, but it may also be eaten raw. In terms of its practicality and nutritional content, avocado oil is quite similar to olive oil. Similar to extra virgin olive oil, cold-pressed avocado oil is unrefined and has a greenish tint due to the fruit's natural flavour and colour retention.
In many cosmetics and skin care products, avocado oil is also used as a moisturiser for the skin. The oil is typically refined and bleached when it is used for skin application, giving it a light yellow hue.

  • Oleic acid
  • Vitamin E
  • Monounsaturated fat
  • Nearly 20 vitamins and minerals are found in avocados. Thus, a 100-gram portion provides: 
    485 potassium milligrams
    Folate levels of 81 micrograms 
     One milligram (0.257) of vitamin B6 
    A dosage of 10 mg of vitamin C 
    A milligram of vitamin E (2.07) 

Avocados don't have much sugar. Additionally, they have fibre, which prolongs feelings of fullness. In one study, participants who included half of a fresh avocado with their lunch showed decreased appetite for food during the next three hours compared to those who did not.
