Vijaya is the mother in a typical middle class family her grandmother savithramma is 87 years old she is brought to stay with them for 10 days which was sun is in engineering she has an unreasonable Lee great emotional attachment with her son as she is under the impact of nuclear family system one evening at 8 o'clock she notices that her son has not returned home it is cloudy and has started drizzling when she phones him there is no response the rain is getting heavier and wise his friends but in vain his mobile phone is switched off she starts worrying more as he has not returned home even after midnight

Under these circumstances Vijaya develops negative and bad thoughts about his safety she becomes panicky and nervous about his whereabouts she has imagine that her son is in danger many crime scenes like murders accidents and robberies shown in the television daily serials have haunted her she has not eaten anything and has been praying to the lord Venkateswara for the safe return of Hasan her grandmother who lived most of her time in the joint family is not much worried she consoles and as you wish that nothing will happen to her son at Vijay has not stopped replying to my surprised why Vijay is in panic the sun rises after an eternity for Vijaya but the sun has not returned just then the well rings Vijay is director and pessimistic thinking that it may be a messenger with some bad news about her son on the other hand grandmother is optimistic about the safe written of the boy.

 the story ends in a suspense over the homecoming of the boy the underlying theme of the story is whether he returns to the old system of values or not.
