In Native American culture, a dreamcatcher meaning" dream snare" is a handmade object based on a willow hoop, on which is woven a loose web or net. The dreamcatcher is then decorated with personal and sacred items such as beads and feathers.
Their purpose was to protect sleepers, especially children, from bad dreams, nightmares, and evil spirits. Native Americans believed that the air was filled with both good and bad dreams during the night time. They would hand the dream catcher over their beds.
This beautiful design originates from the Native America Ojibwe Nation. It is highly symbolic and valued as an amulet. The hoop represents the circle of life. The web catches the bad dreams and destroy them during the day time. The feather help the good dreams get to the sleeping person. The beads could represent either the spider or the good dreams that couldn't get to the sleeper.

SUPPLIES NEEDED TO MAKE YOUR OWN DREAM CATCHERS:
1.A fabric lace doily
2.A metal or wood macrame hoop(its diameter should be about 2 inches larger than your doily)
3.Yarn, strings, fabric scraps, ribbons, etc.
4. Embellishments(feathers, beads, flowers)
5.Scissors, Glue.
INSTRUCTIONS:
◼ Take a yarn or a string and tie it on the hoop. Then tightly wrap it on the hoop be sure that the string is as long as it can cover the whole hoop. Wrap it according that none of the hoop is visible by wrapping ir close enough. Secure with a knot to finish.
◼ Now the hoop is completed, so lay the hoop in a table and place the lace doily at the center of the hoop to attach it. Now attach a piece of string to the hoop and weave back and forth between the hoops and the holes on the edges of doily. Secure it with a knot.
◼ Now we can glue any embellishments in the hoop to hid the knots and make it beautiful.
◼ Now tie the colorful ribbons, yarns and strings of different sizes are the same along the base to make it attractive and give an interesting look. You can also add small lights to make it more gorgeous.
◼ Finish off your dreamcatcher by adding feathers and beads at the end of the string, the color of the feathers can be your choice or according to your room color.
◼ add a piece of string and loop it through the top of your dreamcatcher. the size of the strings matters how far you wanted to hang it. Now your dreamcatcher is ready to hang.
