Ganesh K. Babu wrote a nd directed Dada, a coming-of-age romantic drama movie in the Tamil tongue, in 2023 as his first effort at directing. Kavin, Aparna Das, and K. Bhagyaraj all appear in the movie. It is a loose remake of the Hindi film Aa Gale Lag Jaa or is influenced by it. (1973 film). The movie centres on the life of a young guy who later falls in love with being a single parent and a father. The movie makes a better point about how parenting is gender-neutral.
Teenage parents who are unintentionally in love. They disintegrate in unpleasant circumstances. Manikandan, a teenage father who is abandoned with his baby, struggles as a single parent. Sindhu is once again a part of his existence thanks to fate.
College seniors Manikandan and Sindhu unintentionally become parents. Due to circumstances separating them, Manikandan must nurture his child Adhithya alone. What comes next is a touching story about a parent and son's journey against all the odds.
A fatherhood-relationship coming-of-age drama that turns out to be a rather enjoyable and energising adventure. It is intelligently written and subtly presented, striking the right note with authentic feel-good moments, lighthearted situational humor, and heartfelt emotions. Kavin's prescription is sound, and his controlled act steals the show. Aparna is similarly competent and excels in her role. The appropriate humour relief is provided by Harish, Pradeep Antony, and VTV Ganesh. The drama's mood is flawlessly enhanced and enhanced by the cinematography and music. has a few predictable low points, but overall, it's a very satisfying movie to observe.
The plot of Dada centres on an unintended birth. The film's plot is by no means ground-breaking, but the sensitive portrayal and clever writing make it entertaining. The movie is content to have a lighthearted approach even at the difficult scenarios put forward, so it never becomes too dry in its attempts to emphasise the situations.
In the hands of a lesser writer, Aparna's Sindhu would have been the sacrificing angel and Kavin's Manikandan might have become the height of toxic machismo. But Ganesh makes it plain that neither Mani nor Sindhu are brutes or angels. The characters are flawed in their own unique ways, and in their most open times, they admit their errors and express their desire for a different outcome.
