Our human civilisation is a gateway to many aspects of experiences. These experiences have always tried to convey some teaching and wisdom to us in many ways. These teachings have been conveyed in the form of festivals and celebrating any event in our lives. These events include events like marriage. Since humans are segregated into many cultural background depending upon their geographical location, the definition of marriage and the paraphernalia associated with it is also different. But the institution of marriage is a very vast subject which I feel should be thought upon and analysed as to why this institution is only existing for us. If we really think about it with an open mind, by eliminating our false perception about the matter. Marriage is an a very important event in every humans life. It gives us an opportunity to know ourselves from the perspective of our spouse. It’s also an event to create a sense of bonding, belongingness and invoke our sense of respect / responsibility for others including our spouse and self. Many people have a misconception that marriage is an event to satisfy our physical and emotional needs. Some people have also made the pious event to satisfy their needs and greed. If its not been satisfied then either of the spouse indulge in extra marital affair. As a result they insult this pious event in life. As per my understanding , marriage is not only about two individuals spending life with each other and giving birth to a new life through their bonding. But it’s a spiritual journey which gives the couple an opportunity to know each other from within and help each other to invoke the dormant feeling of love, satisfaction and gratitude. So that an individual observes his/her surrounding and tries to get the positive aspect of every situation in their relationship from a spiritual aspect. The perception about marriage can only be understood if an individual has the intention to know and see the every event as an opportunity to discover oneself. Unfortunately, most of us have a perverted perception about every event in life including marriage. As per my understanding, we humans have been provided by nature to satisfy our needs . But if those needs becomes our greed then it can be very fatal, as it can lead us to be maniacs to a certain degree. People should understand the fact that we shouldn’t leave any stone unturned to be a better human. If it requires us to take some intitiative then we should introspect ourselves and refrain from all evil things associated with marriage and life post marriage. The evil things may vary anything from dowry, extra marital affair , harassment ( physical / mental / emotional ) to any of the spouse or taking undue advantage of spouse’s social, economical or professional position. It might sound very difficult in today’s world with so many temptations. But the true spirit of marriage can only be displayed if we have the will to display our potentiality to follow our true self and respect the essence of marriage. To understand the true essence of marriage one should try and observe their own thoughts and divert the energy created by it to do something constructive which can raise our intellect. As a result it can help us to be human with true spirit of humanity to sustain and respect anything which can help us to grow as humans.
