Maaran is an OTT release at 11 march 2022 on Disney+ Hot star. The movie starring Dhanush, Malavika Mohanan and others.
A son of a famous journalist, who is also a journalist is our hero Madhi Maaran. But his every work having a huge applause over magazines and other news channels are clearly unbelievable and make the character eccentric from the story. The senior journalist role seemed like a emerging negative character and suddenly disappeared. The rival between the hero and the villain is not much convincing. The ending climax twist about his sister somewhat convincing and it becomes worst when hearing about the villain origin reason.
Dhanush, a Versatile actor, even with his great acting, he couldn't save the film. His attitude is fun and his sarcasm against the rowdies are good. Whatever not related to the story is good enough. There is no place for Dhanush to his iconic performance. A well cooked just wasted as trash.
Malavika Mohanan, who already trolled in her previous movie Master( which is a good movie. But not her.). She has the face just seems like a tamil girl kind of familiar face and a great physique (watching her every glamour pics lol.) But her talent in acting is zero. I think Karthik Naren also knew about this and to hide her struggle in acting, they just make her using bubble gum allover the film to cover up her mistake. But her over expression and still face in some scenes can't save by that chewing gum.
Smriti Venkat, who plays the sister of Dhanush. She gives a convincing acting along with D. And their chemistry of siblings worked out well.
Director Karthick Naren, his every movie is becoming worse than the before one.In this movie, His role is only director. So we can't sue him for the movie flop. His direction in "16 extremes"(Dhurvangal 16) received a huge response over India. And he spoiled it in the next one “Mafia”and now this film. His another film which can't be finished due to some problems “Naraga sooran” trailer gets the same hype as the 16 extremes. I think the release of "Naraga Sooran" can only bring back the name karthick naren lost.
Story writers for this film are
The story which feels like a dried bubble gum which can't be defined more. The struggle/laziness of screenplay writer is clearly visible. The main writers did no research on the story and they just bring a garbage. The story plot is almost in the way of 'KO' . They can at least copy the environment from that movie.
The Only thing in the movie worth is the makeup of every character. It dissolved by the thug which played by Ameer, who is a criminal. But he even have the perfect haircut as hero does. The worthy thing is the brother-sister bondage. Even though it was exaggerated at the beginning, through the story it fades by both of their acting & bondage.

you can detect a trash movie by its trailer. If the character make up and looks were so perfect, it means that is the only thing done perfectly in the film. This kind of stereotyping from me proved right in every film in the recent days.
