I have spent the last 40 weeks preparing for the birth my baby. Now that I am home and taking care of my baby, its important to make time for myself. Here I am giving few tips for all new moms to make yourself stay healthy after pregnancy.

Giving birth to a new baby is a 24/7 job, but it also requires proper rest. Sleep anytime. Going to bed when your baby is sleeping means quitting all chores setting aside all distractions and closing your eyes. Also limit number of visitors for first few days.

I undergone C-section and it is different from having normal delivery. The first step is to get up and move to reduce recovery time and prevent constipation & blood clots. Exercise plays a major role post Pregnancy. It helps to boost energy and reduce stress. Exercising regularly helps you to get good sleep. Taking a walk outside once a day is a good start to  improve your physical and mental health condition. Always make sure to stay hydrated.

We spend most of our time with our baby. So it is difficult to make some time for doing exercises. Try to find some time by asking your loved ones for support or consider taking your new born for a walk. Make sure to follow a healthy diet plan. As you are breastfeeding, it is important to take healthy food for the Healthy weight gain of baby.

Many young mothers want to lose weight immediately but this is not good for your baby.  In addition to rest and exercise, diet also plays a big role in maintaining vitality. Consider these in your diet plan: lots of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean protein, leafy greens, foods rich in iron and vitamin C. With a newborn, you are likely to be short on time, so keep your meals simple. If you are breastfeeding be sure to  increase your fluid intake. Water, milk and fruit juices are good choices.

It is perfectly normal to feel depressed after giving birth. The combination of changing hormones, anxiety and sleepless nights can be emotional roller coaster ride. However, it is important to know that these sad feelings usually go away within few weeks after delivery. If it continues get immediate medical attention. Some postpartum depression symptoms include irritated, sad feelings, no interest in baby, restlessness etc. Postpartum depression condition is treatable.

If you have a strong support from your family you can enjoy post pregnancy period and can spend healthy time with your little one.
