Congratulations for giving birth to your beautiful baby. Welcome to a totally new phase of your life. Being a mother is a whole new experience and your life will not be the same. Not even near to as it used to be. No doubt it's a beautiful journey but I would be lying if I say it won't be difficult. It is going to be very strenuous and overwhelming. Your mind and body have undergone immense changes in the past 9 months. Both of them will take time to recover and go back to their pre pregnancy mode. And to top all this you have a brand new Human to take care of. One who is totally dependent on you. Now that's not at all fair for a new mumma. Isn't it ? But that's how it is.
So don't rush, give your mind and body the required time. Don't be hard on yourself.
Instead of stressing over the situation be prepared for it and make your journey enjoyable. Plan your first 40 days post delivery in a manner that helps you to de stress and relax amidst all this chaos.
It is believed that 40 days is time period your body will take to recover. Not only it is recommended by the doctors and the midwives but our traditions also stress on first 40 days post delivery. It is considered as the most sensitive time for a woman's body. If you take care of your body during this time you save yourself from many problems later on in life.
Postpartum massage helps reduce anxiety in new moms. It also increases the blood flow and helps your body get back in shape.

Get as much sleep as you can. Body needs rest to recover. Also your newborn won't let you sleep at night much so arrange your day in a manner that you can get some good sleep in daytime.
Many Indian foods are believed to speed up the recovery and provide nutritional value to mother as well as the baby. They also help to increase the breastmilk supply. Eg. Panjiri, Gondh ke laddoo, Oatmeal, cumin seeds, carom seeds, desi ghee, sprouts, nuts, cow milk, daliya or broken wheat, Ren lentils and fenugreek seeds etc.
Maternity belts are a game changer. They not only help you to hold that post delivery belly pouch in place but also tones the muscles and helps the body to get back in shape faster.
Invest in some cute comfortable maternity outfits. They make you feel good.
Being a mother is a full time job but if you don't take out some βMe timeβ you won't be able to do justice to your baby as well as to yourself. So help yourself in order to help your baby.
Don't be hard on yourself. Listen to your body and take rest. This won't last forever. You will cherish this later on β€
Hope this helps.
