How I Got Into Fitness? Read My Story.

I have always been in sports, but my fitness journey began three years back when I signed up for the gym membership. I had a sloped posture. So, my focus was on strength building and improving my posture.

I had a limited knowledge about the role of nutrition. I believed in the myth that if I am working out, I can eat anything guilt free. My unawareness about the fact that nutrition and fitness are related came in the way of my progress. I worked out with all my heart in it but ended up eating junk every day.

It took me a long time to realise that I need to prioritize taking care of my nutrition. As I did, I was able to see a clear difference in my progress! I was into weight training and went for cardio once or twice a week. I had achieved my main goal, which was a good posture. But the gym motivated me to have other fitness goals as well. Sadly, that is when my career commitments kicked in and my gym routine got disrupted. It got on-off and ultimately I called it quits. 

The lockdown gave my fitness journey a new beginning. It started with me following all the fitness coaches on YouTube. I started researching more about fitness and indulged myself in resistance band training, regular bodyweight workouts and cardio. I filmed myself at times to make sure my form is accurate. 

Earlier, I was fond of lower body routines, even with all the muscle pain the next day. But with time, I got to know why upper body workout, especially training the arms, back and core is so important. Funny how leg days are my least favourite now. 

Apart from a workout, I comprehended that a good nights sleep, proper rest days, proper hydration and nutrition, all of these are linked to one's overall fitness 

I am always a learner and I am always seeking what is best for my body and fitness goals. I am in love with the journey of discovering something new every day. There is still a long way to go, but I have my goals set in the right direction with clear intentions.
