May: The month of May is named after the Greek goddess 'Maia'
June: The month of June is derived from 'Juno', who was considered by the ancient Romans to be the wife of the god Jupiter.
July: Julius Caesar was born in this month, which was considered as the month of the Roman calendar and was called 'Cavintilus' in Latin. After that the month was renamed as July
August: August was considered the sixth month in the ancient Roman calendar. The Latin word 'sextilus', meaning sixth, was used as the name of this month in the early Roman calendar. The month was later named after Augustus Chakraborty, who conquered the city of Alexandria in the eighth century BC.
September: The word “septum” which comes from the Latin word “seven” was given to the seventh month in the calendar of the ancient Romans. In turn the Gregorian calendar followed suit.
October: The name is derived from the Latin word "octo" meaning 'eight'.
November: November is derived from the Latin word 'novum' meaning nine.
December: Latin for 'ten', 'December' was the tenth month of the Roman calendar.
Indian National Calendar
AD The Saka calendar which starts in 78 is considered as the national calendar of India. The Saka year started after the Satavahana king Salivahana defeated the Ujjaini king Vikramaditya in battle. Both the Gregorian calendar and the equinox calendar are officially used in India. It was the Calendar Revision Committee of 1957 that recommended the adoption of the peer calendar as the official calendar. It was on March 22, 1957 of the Gregorian calendar that the first month of the even year, Chaitram 1, officially began in 1879.
Tamil Calendar:
Created based on the Sun. Like the Gregorian it has 12 months from Chitrai to Panguni
Islamic Calendar:
The year of the Islamic calendar starts from the day Prophet Muhammad left Mecca for Medina. AD The journey of the Prophet took place in 622. Based on the Moon, it consists of 12 months
Julian calendar
It was Julius Caesar who implemented this calendar in 45 BC on the advice of the famous astronomer Kosyginsi. It was the forerunner of the Gregorian calendar which is widely used today. 365 days in a year according to the Julian calendar. "Leap year" is Julian's gift.
