He also noticed that people liked to buy them quickly, such as a burger for 15 cents and a soft drink for 10 cents (US dollars). At that moment, Ray Krog saw that such restaurants had a huge future. He immediately talked to the brothers and suggested that similar restaurants can be opened in the country under the company license called 'franchised' and he said that he was the agent for it. The brothers complied and opened their first McDonald's restaurant in Des Plaines, Illinois the following year in 1955. He got only agent amount from company license amount. But the income from the restaurant was more than what he received. However, he also focused on opening McDonald's restaurants on a 'franchised' basis in other parts of the country.

Six years later the Macdonald brothers and Rack Krak had a falling out. Ray Kroc paid the brothers $2.7 million to acquire full ownership of McDonald's restaurants for what they asked. But the brothers refused to sell their first San Bernardino restaurant alone. Do you know what Ray Krag did? The brothers opened a McDonald's restaurant right across from the restaurant, forcing them to close their own restaurant. With quality, cleanliness, quick service and reasonable price as their mantra, McDonald's restaurant started to grow at breakneck speed. Within five years of opening the first restaurant, 200 restaurants opened across the United States. Within ten years, Ray Kroc's McDonald's went public.

In the 1990s, it also set foot on Soviet soil, where McDonald's restaurant was designated as a symbol of capitalism. The world's most active McDonald's restaurant operates in Russia. The world's largest McDonald's restaurant opened in China in 1992. No matter which McDonald's restaurant you go to in the world today, the taste of the food is almost the same. That's because food preparation methods and sizes are standardized around the world. That is one of the reasons for McDonald's success in Himalayas and it has changed with the times. For example, teenagers were initially recruited to work in those restaurants. But after the 1980s, adults were also recruited. Besides hamburgers, fish, chicken burgers and breakfasts were also added to suit the changing tastes.

In 1977, Ray Kroc published his autobiography, Grinding It Out. His first lines were "I have always believed that each man makes his own happiness and is responsible for his own problems." It means that every man creates his own happiness and is responsible for his own problems. Ray Kroc, who sought his happiness through the McDonald's restaurant revolution and became known as the 'Hamburger King', died on January 14, 1984 at the age of 82 in California.
