This is continue version of last blog. Following this, the search for crude oil sources throughout the Arab countries began in AD. Around the tenth century, a Muslim geographer named Abu Al Hasan discovered large oil resources at Baku in the country of Azerbaijan. Following this, over a hundred oil wells were drilled in Baku. The world's first largest number of oil wells drilled in one place is in Baku, Azerbaijan.
In this case, some Japanese alchemists said that when crude oil is heated, kerosene is obtained. Following this, a Persian alchemist named Muhammad Ibn Zakariya Al-Rashi (865-925 AD) started trying to refine crude oil. For this he used a type of filter called alembic which he made himself. As a result of the attempt, he found explosive water (petrol). This invention of his was used by the Persian army as an explosive to attack the enemy army. Following this, the importance of crude oil was realized and an experiment was started to find the places where oil resources are available all over the world. Oil deposits were discovered in Western Europe in the twelfth century and in Romania in the thirteenth century. In the seventeenth century (1753), oil resources were first discovered in Pennsylvania, America, and then in Alsace, France.
At the beginning of the seventeenth century, large oil reserves were discovered at Ukhta in Russia. Following this, the world's first crude oil refinery was established at Ukta with the help of the Russian Empress Elizabeth. The plant was almost entirely based on Ibn Shakarya's method of distillation. The oil filtered through this was used for lighting lamps in Russian churches and monasteries.
In this case, in 1846 Abraham Gesner (Abraham Pineo Gesner), a Canadian geologist, discovered the technology of extracting kerosene from coal for the first time in the world. He also created kerosene lamps and showed a light to the world that was floating in darkness. Subsequently the demand for kerosene began to increase manifold. As the meager kerosene extracted from coal could not meet the huge demand of humans, an alternative was thought of.
The world's second crude oil refinery was established in 1857 in Ploiesti, Romania. Subsequently, refining plants were built in each country little by little around the world. It is important to note that Romania was the first country in the world to sell crude oil on the open market. Romania sold a total of 275 tonnes of crude oil on the open market for the first time.
