In this era of 2k kids, no one knows about the internet after the advent of the smart ∴phone. Internet plays a huge role in reading, searching, buying, researching, watching and listening to anything. As with every good thing, technology has a dark side, so does the Internet. That is the Dark Net.

The Dark Net is a small part of the Internet. Websites that are not in general view and not found in search. The darknet consists mostly of hidden websites for illegal activities.

Websites that we can normally see/search are about the size of an iceberg visible at the top of an ocean (see image below). This is called Surface Web. Many of us do not know that there are many more websites hidden under the sea and in the deep sea without our eyes. This is called Dark Web or Dark Net.

(Surface Web) Surface web or clear web (Clear web) consists of pages that can be easily searched and viewed by the general public through search engines. It is called Clear net, indexable web. Part of the WWW. The most familiar search engines are Google, Yahoo and Bing. Of these, only 30 trillion web pages are searched by Google. This is just 4% of the internet.

If you want to understand more, Google, Yahoo, YouTube, Amazon, ∴Flipkart, Twitter, ∴Facebook, Wikipedia, Blocks.. and many more websites that we use on the Internet are on the Surface Web.

(Deep Web) The deep web is the pages that are hidden from normal search. Websites containing confidential information, government records/databases, university information/data, bank transfer information, private websites (web portals), money-making services and other websites are available in the deep web. For example, the information of apps like Netflix, Amazon Prime that we pay for and use is in the deep web. Similarly, web portals containing information about some government references cannot be searched/discovered directly on Google. But with a separate IP address for these, we can directly use the browsers we use on a daily basis with the username and password.

(Dark Net) The Dark Net is not accessible like any other normal website. The Darknet is a small part of the Deep Web. Most of these websites are hidden websites.

To use this dark net, we cannot browse through the browsers we use daily. All websites are encrypted. There are some specialized encrypted browsers that help you browse the dark net.
