Adelaide Is A Beautiful City?!

Adelaide is known as a city where it is impossible to get lost. Adelaide is a small city compared to other Australian state capitals, and is a planned city. So it's hard to get lost. Unlike most Australian state capitals, Adelaide was not built as a settlement for British convicts, but rather as a result of free settlers. Adelaideans have a lot to be proud of.

Applied to immigrate to Australia in 2014. Visa came in 2018. This is a South Australia sponsored visa. So there were some restrictions on the visa. Importantly, we must live in South Australia for two years. At least one year of that should be in one full-time job or two part-time jobs. After that you can get permanent residency. When I moved here in January 2018, the city seemed overwhelmingly quiet. It's not Adelaide's fault. We lived in Kuala Lumpur for almost five years before coming here. With skyscrapers everywhere, malls everywhere, and countless vehicles speeding along the wide roads, the bustling life of the Malaysian capital was familiar. Adelaide's silence is not so appealing. Besides, we got to experience something that we had forgotten after coming to Malaysia. That is, most of the shops close at 5.30 pm. We also experienced this practice in England. January is summer here, so it was light till 8.30pm but no shops. The roads were deserted. Kuala Lumpur has more than 200 days of rain a year, and although it is moderately sunny, it does not feel that hot as it rains frequently. But the low humidity in Adelaide left skin dry, eyes burning, and headaches. The awning was another 40 degrees. Even walking ten feet in the sun at noon was difficult. Uber service was also expensive (minimum charge AUD 8). No matter what it costs to go, the mind automatically calculates the Malaysian ringgit and screams, oh, how cheap it is in Malaysia.

You can't go to work in other cities in South Australia because there are no other cities in South Australia except Adelaide. Out of a total of 1.7 million South Australians, more than 1.3 million people live in Adelaide and its surrounding areas. Recently many jobs have migrated to other states. Details can be found here. The biggest issue of all this came with getting my daughter into school. My daughter's birthday is May 10.
