I couldnt sleep. Melvin's charming face, impressive personality and the rudest attitude couldn't let me sleep. I logged in my facebook and instagram and searched for his profile. He had quite a lot of followers and friends. No doubt, he had god gifted looks. I definitely didnt.

The next day, I walked into the lecture hall only to find an empty seat beside Melvin. Ugh! There was no other place to sit. I walked in and sat quitely. Melvin was busy texting and didn't even notice me. Great!

Our seniors entered the lecture hall to announce the freshers party. They asked to sepect a representative amongst us and everyone wanted Ferb to be the representative as many people were familiar with his responsible nature.

They asked Ferb to shortlist few students for the Mr. and Miss. Freshers competition. He noted down the names of people interested and announced all the names at the end. It had my name too! But whhhhy? I didnt want to!

I walked to Ferb and asked the same to which he replied, “I want you to because I also am taking part okay?” Seriously? But I donr have the confidence of dressing up and walking in front of so many people. I dont even look pretty. To which he told, “Oh come on! You are cute and I find you pretty. Get yourself a stunning gown and just appear at the party for me please! I'd need a partner and I wont feel awkward with you”.

I went home that day, wondering how will I ask my mom to but me a gown. She'd shout at me for asking that instead of wearing what ever I had. Well I still had a week so I didnt ask my mom that day. My grandma was watching a superdramatic daily soap and grandpa was shouting at her for watching such a drama. My mom was also shouting at my brother for not having dinner with everyone, and by everyone I mean, the whole family and the tv too. 🤭

I checked my savings wallet to see how much money I had. Well, I had quite an amount. So I think I dont have to ask my mom about the gown.

The next day was a Sunday. I went to nearby stores to check but didnt find any impressive ones. Then googled for some good store and found one. I hired a cab and left.

It was a huge store with amazing collection. Not expecting them to be too costly, I went ahead and asked the sales person to show me a “stunning gown” as told by Ferb 🤭 After showing few good ones to me, he took out a really beautiful black coloured shimmery long gown. It was so beautiful that I could take my eyes off. I asked him if I could get a trial and he agreed. I put it on as checked myself in the mirror. I never looked so pretty before 🥺 I came out of the trial room to ask the salesgirl there if it really looks good on me. I noticed someone looking at me and turned back only to find Melvin. Why IS HE HERE?? I just rushed into the trial room and changed.

At the counter, I asked them to finalize the bill and recieved a shocker…. The bill amount was around 5 times the amount I had with me. Amaaazing! What could be more embarrasing?

The person behind me leaned forward and gave his card to pay my bill. I turned back to check who it was. Melvin! Nooooooo! Whyyyy?!! The cashier made the bill and packed the gown and gave me. He asked me to move so that he could pay his bill. I just moved before he'd get rude and waited near the exit of the store. He walked towards the exit. I stopped him and asked him why did he pay for me? “My wish", he told and walked away.

I was so confused. I went home, sat on my bed and stared at the dress for very long time. Why did he have to pay for me? What is wrong with him? I decided I'd return the amount to him how so ever.
