The four most prestigious, widely acclaimed International Beauty pageants for women are collectively referred to as Big Four by global media and news agencies. The four major beauty pageants are:
India has sent 75 delegates till now, out of which nine won Big Four titles; six times Miss Universe crown, two times Miss World crown, and one time Miss Earth. Reita Faria won the first Big Four title for India when she bagged the Miss World 1966 title and became first Asian to win. The most recent Big Four title for India was won by Manushi Chhillar when she was crowned Miss World at the 2017 pageant.
India is still sort at Miss International Title. There had been two times when India finished at 1st runner-up position in this event. That time is not so far when all the Big Four titles will be home.
India also hosted Miss World 1996 pageant event at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore, Karnataka. Preliminaries shot in India and Seychelles. A total of 88 contestants from all over the world took part in the prestigious pageant. By the end of the night, 18 years-old Irene Skliva of Greece became Miss World.
Miss Universe 2020 held on May 16, 2021 in Florida, United States. It was the 69th edition of Miss Universe which withhold due to the COVID-19 pandemic till now. Miss Mexico Andrea Meza has been crowned Miss Universe out of 74 contestants including, Adline Castelina, who finished as 3rd Runner-up. Adline Castelina is an Indian actor who won Miss Diva Universe 2020 title and represented India at Miss Universe pageant event. Another proud moment for India!
