Sky Full Of Questions

When I was a little girl, there was a thing that fascinated me alot. The Sky and what is beyond it  I always wanted to touch it. To touch the clouds. To see how it changes  color. To see the stars. The moon. That is why when someone asked me what I wanted to become when I grow up? I would tell them that I want to be an air hostess or a pilot or an astronaut I thought this could be a way of finding the answers to my questions.

When we look above us we see a magnificent sky and it's limitless beauty. It signifies unity where we all resides under it no matter where we are. It signifies freedom where we can just open our wings of dreams and fly out in the open sky. It signifies change is constant. That whatever happens in life, it goes on. The day has to come after night and vice versa. It compelles us to be curious about what is beyond it? Are we alone in this vast and beautiful universe or are we sharing it with others

This endless beauty makes me more curious than  giving me answers.

Here are some of the interesting facts that I find very fascinating as well as curious at the same time.

  1. When we gaze at the stars in the sky, we are actually looking at history. It takes hundred, thousand or sometimes million of years for the light from distant stars to reach us. Some stars may don't even exist that we are looking at now.

2. There is a song sung by Rihanna “shine bright like a diamond”. Well there is literally a star that is made entirely of diamond. It was discovered in 2004. They named it Lucy.

3. Clouds are extremely heavy. They might appear like as light as cotton but mind you they can contain million of tons of water. There is a saying “the skinny ones tends to eat more”.

4. Space is completely silent. Sound waves needs a medium to travel but there is no atmosphere in the vaccum of space.

5. The Apollo astronauts footprint on the moon will probably stay there for atleast 100 million years. This is because there is no atmosphere, no wind or water to erode or wash away the Apollo astronauts footprint on the moon.
