In my previous blog we have seen about various flowers facts. So if u have a garden or plants in your home what do u notice on them. There will be some creepy things called as insects or bugs.

Even these tiny creatures have some crazy facts which we do not know about them. Lets see some of those facts.

Insects do not have lungs. They breathe through tiny tubes called as tracheae.

Insects eat more plants than any animal on earth. First we will see about

FRUIT FLY

Fruit flies were the first  animals sent into space by a U.S.-launched V-2 rocket on 20 February 1947 in New Mexico. It was sent to explore the effects of radiation exposure at high altitudes.

DRAGON FLIES

Dragonflies have been on earth for 300 million years.There are 36 species of dragonfly found in the UK.

LADYBIRD

A ladybird might eat more than 5,000 insects in its lifetime.

MOSQUITO

Do you know…only female mosquitoes bite people.

Male mosquitoes feed only on plant juices, such as nectar for energy and survival. Males do not bite so they cannot transmit diseases.

Mosquitos are attracted to smelly feet!

A mosquito flaps its wings 500 times per second.

GRASSHOPPERS

The fact about Grasshoppers is they existed before the dinosaurs.

Grasshoppers have special organs in their hind legs and these legs store energy for them for jumping.

BUTTERFLY

Butterflies taste with their feet.

There is one kind of butterfly called as Red postman butterfly which develops its own poison by eating toxic plants.

COCKROACH

It can run up to 3 miles per hour.The largest cockroach in the world is found in South America which  is about 6 inches long with a 1 foot wing-span.

A cockroach can live upto 3 weeks without its head 😱

ANT

Ants are found everywhere.

If you weigh all the ants in the world it will be equal to that of all humans in the world.

They are very strong and can lift 50 times more than their weight.

BEE

 A bee’s wings beat 190 times per second, that’s 11,400 times per minute.

FIREFLY

Firefly light can be yellow, green or orange.

Males that do glow use their flash to attract females

A Large groups of fireflies sometimes flash in unison.

STONE FLY

Some of the male stoneflies do push-ups to attract a mate.

DUNG BEETLE

 Dung beetle can drag 1,141 times its weight. It is like a human pulling 6 double-decker buses.
