Any motivational video or content you see, the first thing that they'll tell you is that never give up on your dreams. If you go to any successful person they will always tell you that we had a dream and worked really hard to achieve our goals and although we had a lot of difficulties like people didn't support us or they faced financial problems or something else but they didn't give up.
So, what these innocent people learn from them is that they will achieve their goals if they work really hard for their dreams and they don't have to give up at any cost.
I have seen people sticking on some competitive exams like that of UPSC or CAT or other exams and spending half of their life preparing for that. And they become kinda crazy about their goals like they skip all the fun. They isolate themselves from their families or loved ones or anyone else out there and just make their life a hell.
Well, I don't mean to say that you don't have to do sacrifices but what I want to tell you is that you do have to sacrifice some things but those sacrifices must not be irrelevant ones.
Okay, let me clear my position in simple words, firstly we need to identify that what we truly want and that must be something that we are good at, we love doing, which can bring money to you and that gives you satisfaction and joy and not fatigue. This is ikgai i.e. a Japanese technique to find the purpose in your life.
And whatever you choose could be anything that you enjoy doing and gives you inner satisfaction. You don't have to rush in some limited specific fields just because people are doing great in it, rather you have to explore choose a particular field and master that field, and set an example to the society so that you become an ideal for other people.
And make sure that you have the caliber to achieve that thing for example what could have happened if Neeraj Chopra who has recently won gold in the Olympics choose to sit for the UPSC exam. Maybe he could not compete and end up failing again and again and started doing self-doubt and losing self-worth. Just because a fish can't climb a tree doesn't mean that it is not worth anything. And it may be possible that you are good at two things or more but you have to choose one field of course because if you choose to sail in two boats you may end up drowning. You have to recognize what your talents are and work on them sincerely and don't cheat on yourself. Give your 100% to the work honestly and then see the miracles happening.
You will need to find your passion. Don't give up on finding it because then all you are doing is waiting for the Reaper.
