So BBC published a documentary about the Gujarat riots which happened in 2002. And that documentary is now being banned in India. Following that, there are protests happening in the Universities demanding for the screening of banned documentary. Is the ban of documentary justified ? If so in what sense? If not so, in what sense? You can be a supporter of Modi ji or a hater of Modi ji, that's not at all an issue . But what is this documentary trying to convey? It's important that we analyze this before making conclusions .
There is a man called Jack Straw, appears in this video who was a Foreign Secretary of UK from 2001 to 2006.
So this man was the foreign secretary when Gujarat riots took place in 2002. So the entire documentary is based on the documents given by this man. So basically Jack's documents are connected with other people opinion.
Well, I am not saying this ,the telegraph said that Jack is the person who submitted all the documents to the producers of this particular documentary . So he is not just someone who speaks in the documentary , he is the backbone of it. So it's important that we check the credibility of this man to see the trustworthiness of this particular documentary . This person had illegitimate relations with the Chinese companies in return for 60000 Euros every year as a bribe . These were just allegations until two British journalists did a sting operation on him . These journalists went as the representatives of companies and recorded the deal that happened between them. This went viral and he was forced to resign from the party in 2015. And not to mention that he is also a member of “The 48 Group Club ” which is a controversial Chinese club
and recently Rishi Sunak became the Prime Minister of UK and he belongs to a party called Conservative party and this person Jack belongs to a party called Labour Party which is the opposition party of Conservative Party. He has all the reasons to pull down India . Now we know the credibility of this man. He is someone who can sell his own nation for the sake of money.
Now let's see the credibility of others who spoke in this documentary as representatives of Indians.
1.Aakar Patel.
Few years back ,a lot of NGOs were banned in our country because of their illegitimate funding from foreign countries . Prominent among them is NGO called Amnesty in which Aakar Patel was the chairman.
So this NGO was fined Rs. 51.72 crores and this person was separately fined Rs. 10 crores. And he is also famously known as a Modi Hater in the Twitter community .
2. Arundhati Roy.
I don't think she needs any introduction . Most of us know her very well. She is someone who transformed from Modi hater to someone who speaks against India all the time. It's her role that was played by Pallavi Joshi in the movie Kashmiri Files. She is someone who spoke a lot of times ill of Indian army and did a lot of campaigns supporting “Azadi” for Kashmir.
3. Alishan Jafri.
A journalist who worked in a lot of News Media Organizations in India . Surprisingly, all of them Anti-Modi sites. Leave the sites , if you see the articles written by him, 90% of them goes like India is burning with communal riots.
4. Aakashi Bhatt.
Aakashi Bhatt is Sanjiv Bhatt's daughter. Sanjiv Bhatt is a former Indian Police Officer and he is the one who filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court against Modi for his alleged role in the Gujarat riots.
5. Safoora Zargar.
She is the student leader of Jamia Millia Islamia University and she is the one of the master minds behind the protests that happening in the Universities . Not just for this documentary but also for the protests that happened in the past for CAA and NRC.
So basically in this documentary ,all these people are giving opinions with the clippings of the Gujarat riots . So none of the allegations they mentioned in the documentary are new. Everything is the same old accusations they've been telling for years .
SO WHY BAN?
So why to ban this particular documentary when there are even more convincing accusations have been made on him on the daily basis .
Even there is a famous book published in 2016, when Modi was the PM,which talks about the Gujarat riots bashing Modi ji and that book is still available in the market .
SO WHY TO BAN THIS PARTICULAR DOCUMENTARY?
If this was really a genuine documentary , there should have been at least one person who is not a Modi Hater. And this documentary conveniently ignored the part that Modi was charged with the Gujarat riots and the case was happening for 12 years ( 2002-2014). Eventhough he was the chief minister of Gujarat at that time,Congress was in the central power. And this case was happening for 12 years , if there were any evidence of truth in this accusation, obviously he would have been punished . Why would Congress let a man escape who can be a potential competitor for them?
And don't even bring out that Judicial system is corrupted nonsense. Jayalalitha, a former CM of Tamilnadu, a very powerful leader was arrested and sentenced to for a minor corruption case when she was in power .
And why this documentary didn't talk anything about the case that was happening for 12 years and the evidences Supreme Court considered to set him free?
Why it didn't talk anything about this at all?
Isn't degrading the Supreme Court of India?
Leave all this , I'm not here to prove that Modi is innocent . It was already done by the Supreme Court .
Why is the British Media taking up this issue after 20 years?
If Jack, had enough evidences he could have proved him guilty then itself . Why is he bringing this up now after 20 years?
And on what basis , this documentary completely ignores the judgement of the Supreme Court of India?
If you look at the documentary, it makes you feel like “India is completely intolerant towards Islam community ” which is not at all true. In fact ,this whole country is running on the minority appeasement policy . But this is the message this documentary trying to register on a world forum and why is this happening now?
Because we just surpassed the British as the 5th largest economy in the world. We surpassed a nation which ruled us and treated us like slaves for 200 years .And BBC is not just a common media. It is British Broadcasting Corporation which is owned by British Royal Monarchy .
On top of that , now PM Modi tops the list as the world's most popular leader and this year ,we are going to host the G20 summit.
So now they are trying to project that INDIA IS UNSAFE . And what is this protest happening in the Universities?
For screening of a banned documentary? Do you guys even realize what you are asking for? The documentary is literally banned in India and you're asking to screen it in the Universities?
And those who speak about freedom of journalism, there are still many articles and videos available on the same issue . But this documentary is a motivated propaganda and it's projecting India in a bad light on a world forum . So it's important that we show our resistance. It's important to speak up when it come to our Nation. You can criticize any person, it can be the President or the Prime Minister but not the Nation. No matter what your ideology is, no matter what your religion is, we must always stand together when it comes to Nation. Don't let the British to use the same divide and rule policy again.
