Hello friends, I am back with lots of stories to share. I missed you all during these days, but thankfully, we’re reconnecting through our words.
Recently my department conducted a cultural event, our class boys decided to dance but only four of us practiced for our performance and remaining boys quit.
We really enjoyed those practice session as we don't want to attend our classes after our lunch break. Those practice session let us communicate more and improved an understanding about eachother. In our last year cultural event I danced with only one of my friend, we both performed a couple dance, but this time I tried to engage everyone in this event but they refused to join us but another two of our friends joined us.
So the celebration day begins with a welcome prayer and a coffee with samosa as refreshment.
we appreciate and enjoy others performance…
Then it's time to get into the stage,me and my boys went to change our costume, our HOD sir disagree with our costume that we wore a dhoti (lungi). Since its an engineering college, we should maintain few rules and regulations is what all the staffs keeps on saying, but we requested and then they agree with us.
Then we step into the stage but suddenly after 1:54 mins , one of our department staff came and switch off the speakers and we was shocked, then we asked why and he said that this song feels "awkward" and we felt really bad and confused that what they found wrong in that song and our movement. we came back to seats and totally shattered and lost our fun and celebration mood.
Then so many seniors and juniors started asking us why they stopped your performance, and we said that even we don't know…
But after few moments they want us to continue our performance but from the next song, since we felt really bad and a kind of shame in front of everybody, we said that we don't want to perform.
I thought that I will dance well and it looks good when they provide a spotlight and nice decoration so that I can share it with my sister and her children but we failed so it keeps on hurting for next 2 weeks.
Every staffs from our department stared asking us about that incident and we group of four boys was mentioned as “team awkward” by our friends, now it's funny to be called as awkward team but that word hurts when everybody questioning about our performance.
Such unexpected heartbreak made us hate performing in our upcoming events.
So that's the day where all our dreams faded under the spotlight.
From being a most wanted student gang of the department to the team awkward, feels hard but it connect 4 of us and the bond we share became more strong day by day, that's the only good thing happened in this trauma.
