The red coloured liquid which is regulating and circulating in our body is called blood.Our blood is red in color because it consist of red pigment called haemoglobin.Our blood is type of connective tissue.

Blood is made up of mainly four things:-

1.Red blood cells

2.White blood cells

3.Plasma

4.Platelets

Plasma

All the liquid part of our blood is known as plasma.Plasma is basically a colourless liquid which is mainly clear water.It is made up of 91% water.There are various substances which are dissolved in our plasma.These substances are protein,digested food,salt also waste products like urea and carbon dioxide.The main work of plasma is to transfer or carry these substances from one part of the body to another.Platelets,red blood cells and white blood cells all are also floating in this liquid known as plasma.

Red Blood Cells

Red blood cells are red in colour because of the presence of red pigment also known as haemoglobin.The main work of red blood cell is to transfer or carry oxygen to the different organ of our body.Actually,haemoglobin is responsible for carrying oxygen in our body.It is haemoglobin in our red blood cells who do this work.The majority cells in our blood  are red blood cells.

White Blood Cells

White blood cells work as guard and protect us from infection and various types of diseases.White blood cells are able to make antibodies to fight with germs and viruses in our body.White blood cells can also eat up the diseases causing bacteria and germs to protect us from them.Antibodies made by white blood cells also makes our immunity strong to combat other foreign viruses and becteria.White blood cells act as soldiers of our body which protect us from any foreign enemy.The quantity of white blood cells in our body is less as compared to red blood cells.

Platelets

Our bone marrow makes platelets in our body with the help of stem cells.They are kind of special cells which helps blood in clotting in any wound or cut on our skin.Clotting saves wastage of blood in our body.This clotting is done by platelets for a purpose to stop bleeding.It makes our blood semi solid on a wound or cut to stop overflow of blood outwards.
