Indian Education System

The school system in India has four levels: lower primary (age 6 to 10), upper primary (11 and 12), high (13 to 15) and higher secondary (17 and 18). ... One subject (Social Studies, consisting of History, Geography and Civics) is always taught in Hindi, and other subjects in English, in these schools.

India has very strict schooling curriculum and focuses on just bookish knowledge rather than identifying different talents which the students possess.

It is the main problem of our indian education system that we get to just read the books and copy the same thing in exams and we just get promoted to the next class, this is continued for a long period of 12-14. Even most of the things we study in our books isn’t even indirectly related to real life knowledge. We study things throughout our lives which we cannot even relate with outside world. This also creates a mindset in the students that they only need to study the books and mug up all the things in books to be intelligent and successful. It isn’t even important to get all this non practical knowledge to be successful. Parents also force their children to focus more on books rather than outside world, this also affects the mental health of students and can lead to a very serious outcome. In today’s generation, many young people suffer from depression, anxiety and mental stress , schools cannot be blamed fully for this but they also play a crucial role in developing all these problems. Students are given strict studying hours and with a few minutes of breaks in between, this leads to stress and anger formation. Also, indian education system focuses on just students getting good grades and in schools students who get good grades are being termed as intelligent even if other students are having potential or they are good in any other field, they are just ignored.

This is such heartbreaking and cruel reality of our education system and thus it may generate some doctors or engineers, it may even lead to a vast majority of youth go unemployeed.

It's true & sad reality! Some international schools have come up but again with higher fees! I wonder we are living in the land of Nalanda University, which was once that famous, foreigners also came to study there.!! Loved your line - "Indian education system focuses on just students getting good grades and in schools students who get good grades are being termed as intelligent even if other students are having potential or they are good in any other field, they are just ignored."
