Valparai Hill Station is one of the best tourist destinations in Tamil Nadu, located above 3500 feet above sea level on the Anamalai mountain range of the Western Ghats. It is 64 kilometres from Pollachi and 102 kilometres from Coimbatore. Valparai Hill Station is a pollution-free heaven surrounded by tea estates. The region where this waterfall is located receives the third-highest amount of rainfall in India, after Mawsynram and Cherrapunji.

A suspension bridge has been constructed above the waterfall, providing visitors with breathtaking views of the thundering waterfalls set among the lush vegetation. Chinnakallar is always shrouded in clouds and mist, owing to the significant amount of precipitation that falls there each year.

Sholayar Dam : 

Sholayar Dam is located on the road that connects Valparai and Athirapally. It is situated 23 kilometres from Valparai and 55 kilometres from Athirapally. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the vicinity of Athirapally Waterfall.

The dam creates a significant reservoir as part of the Parambikulam-Aliyar Project. The area surrounding the dam is home to a plethora of breathtaking natural features. Because the reservoir is dry after December, going there at any other time except during the monsoon season is pointless.

Aliyar Dam : 

The Aliyar Dam is an earthen dam located near the town of Aliyar in Tamil Nadu. This location is approximately 24 kilometres from Pollachi and 43 kilometres from Valparai. It is one of the most well-known dams in Tamil Nadu and is high on the list of recommended Valparai destinations. The Aliyar Dam, which spans the Aliyar River, was built for irrigation purposes between 1959 and 1969.

The dam can be found in the Anaimalai Hills of the Western Ghats. These hills are near the Valparai slopes. The Anamalai range surrounding the reservoir, as well as the coconut orchards, are a visual treat.
