Aero leaf wind turbine is a nature inspired biomimetic Wind turbine. It was developed by The New World Wind , France. These turbines are designed to produce 300 Watts of electricity from a turbine.

A wind tree consists of 63 aero leaves and it can produce 2400W of electricity. These turbines are made as a solution for increase in land cost , Shortage of  implementation energy etc. The main objectives of these turbines are

• To capture major amount of wind and utilize it for various applications.
• To generate an aero leaf turbine to give energy to highways expressways and other major roads.
• To reduce load on main electricity supply division by proper fabrication and installation.
• To generate more power without use of heavy or large blades.

Each turbines are of 10m high and 8m wide. It can save 864kg of coal per year. It has high flexibility which helps to achieve maximum energy. These turbines rotates as per the tangential force produced by the wind. They are are Vertical Axis Wind turbines in which the  two leaves of turbine are facing opposite to each other which rotate around a single vertical axis. The continuous rotation of these turbines produce high power.

These turbines are produced with zero noise pollution .It works silently about 5db noise. Low starting threshold of 2.5 m/s  . These turbines can works in any condition and It can provide energy for 15 street lights , lighting for 71 parking  spaces , 10 sqm of office space with 20KWh/sqm , It can also be used to consume the electricity of a normal French households.

Aero leaf turbines can be used in rooftops , coastlines, city scrapers etc. Inspection and maintaince of these turbines are very easy. The power generation efficiency is about 70% and has a strong wind resistance capacity . It has a very low failure rate.

Aero leaf structure is the basic part of this wind turbine and it is made up of Nylon fiber .  The wind tree is made up of wood or aluminum . These turbines are mainly installed in streets roadways, medians for streetlights . These light poles are separated by a few meters . Pole of such streetlights   will act as a support for the aero leaf turbine. They are detachable turbines it rotates day and night whenever the wind flows.  It store energy for the time of excess  requirements ,

These turbines can also be used in stations , Yards and e cars . When these turbines are installed properly in large empty strips of land can serve many small purposes. The turbines can be also used for hotels and restaurants , parking areas , public parks and children playgrounds.
