With the continuous mutation and the increase in the rate of infectiousness of the covid-19 virus, many countries including India are taking measures to restrict the spread of covid-19 disease. The persistent lockdown and strict quarantine measures are helpful in decreasing the infection rate but are affecting multiple businesses tremendously especially the food sector. Which strict laws about the duration of opening the markets and ration stores, the eating habit and the quality of food that individuals are getting have been affected. This case becomes more severe when it comes to the people who are suffering from the virus itself or in the post covid treatment. 

Nutrition is very important in times like these when the immune system is being affected and it needs to get sufficient strength to fight the virus. With exercise, yoga and meditation the food habits and the quality of our diet also affect our immunity and our ability to fight not only the covid-19 virus itself but also the post covid complications.

 With this continuous stay at home people are eating a lot of processed food with high values of sugar, fats and salt which can lead to some long-term complications as the physical activities of individuals are also so very restricted due to the current scenario.

Know your needs 
Always prepare a grocery list before going shopping and know your needs, this will stop panic purchasing and it will also reduce wastage of food products. Don't take food with short shelf life in large quantities as they rot soon and this will increase food wastage.

A diet containing all the nutrients that your body needs


Use of fresh products/ingredients
Always try to eat fresh, buy fresh green vegetables and fruits as the nutrition value in this will be a lot higher than frozen vegetables and other frozen products. Fresh Greens and fruits will also enhance the taste of your prepared meal and we'll give you a fulfilling or a satisfied feeling after a meal hence will stop overeating or binge eating. Have an Apple or any other fresh fruit which have a high amount of fibres as your everyday snack rather than eating packaged chips and chocolates, this will not only reduce your weight and keep you fit but also release happy hormones such as serotonin and dopamine in your brain and will give you a satisfied and a happy feeling. Routes and vegetables also help to improve your digestive abilities and enhance the quality of your sleep.
Making colour full vegetables a part of your regular diet
Colourful vegetables contain something called phytonutrients/Phytochemicals which works as antioxidants for the body. phytonutrients/Phytochemicals helps in increasing the immune response of the body and builds the core strength of the body. It also reduces the inflammatory response of different organs such as kidneys, liver, heart etc. Eating colourful vegetables along with your greens, improve cellular function and enhance the functioning of different organs such as the liver, thyroid gland, heart etc. Anthocyanin is a dark purple pigment present in most vegetables such as aubergine helps in increasing the natural immunity of the body, which is effective in the treatment of post covid complications.
