There are currently four terminals (T1–T4) at this airport, and a fifth is under construction. They are exceptionally successful in their line of work, and their success has been acknowledged with numerous honors, including the title of "World's Best Airport" from Skytrax on several occasions. They are the first airport in history to hold this title twelve times. It has also received recognition as one of the cleanest airports in the world. In 1993, the late Princess Diana went to Singapore and went on a tour of Changi Airport. The Business Traveller UK Award gave Changi its sixth "Best Airport" honor, and Princess Diana personally gave the Permanent Secretary the trophy. Changi Airport served 68.3 million passengers in 2019, ranking it as the 18th busiest airport in the globe. To enable faster check-in for travelers, the airport installed technology like self-check-in kiosks and automated baggage drop systems.
