Hello everyone, good to be in touch with you all in this new blog. It was very heartbreaking news for me when I read about it. This incident took place in the state of Kerala. A girl child named AdhithyaShree from Kerala was using the cell phone to watch videos around 10.30 at night and with a huge sound the cell phone got exploded. In this incident, her hands and face were burnt. When the parents rushed to the hospital it was too late that she died. It was reported that because of the school holidays, the child has a habit of using the cell phone for long hours. Due to this, the phone got overheated and the child who is unknown of the risk factors used it even after overheating. The Forensic department reported that this was due to the over-bulge of batteries. This is not the first incident in India, we had a similar issue last year in the northern side of India reporting an 8-month-old baby died due to the phone which was overcharged near the baby. We all know the consequences of giving a phone to small children and it makes us feel hard only when we realize an incident or an accident in our dearest. In this modern world and in our busy schedule we want the children to be in the same place and cell phones help us to do so. But are we monitoring what they are watching? What they are up to watch? We as a parent has an equal responsibility to make them understand the consequences of using the phone in the long run. The models of mobile phones are very different than the models which we used before. Almost every mobile phone is now in-built, which means we cannot open it and see what's going on inside. The problem with these in-built batteries is they are not visible and we can not see when the batteries get bulged.

A cell phone battery is made up of Lithium iron chemical which has positive and negative energies. These lithium iron gets heat whenever we charge our phone and that's the reason we might feel some heat behind the phone after we charged. When this lithium iron gets over heat it will lead to explode.

When will the batteries get overheated?

The reasons are multiple, it may be because of manufacturing defects, or it may happen when we accidentally leave the phone down or when we overcharged the phone.

Always remember not to charge the phones during night time, not to answer/make a call when the phone is in charge, and don't use the phone when it gets heat.

Let us take this incident as a personal loss and be responsible to bring the child in a good way and not in a mechanical way. Happy parenting in a safe way..!!
