This is the story of a boy who fights
Numerous wars with his only weapon- Smile.
He was a cute little boy with kind eyes.
It must have taken a great deal of time for God,
To decide the fate of this boy.
Chaos and tears were the things that awaited him in life.
Sometimes the fate God creates is so strong that
You cannot turn them into opportunity.
Being born in a middle-class family
He had to let go of many things he wished to do in his life.
But he kept dreaming; dreaming of things he would do once he grew up.
He was the apple of his mother's eyes,
But never in his life felt his father's love.
He loved his friends and always gave his best when it came to helping them.
There came a point in his life, where he was asked to quit school
And work to sustain the family.
He was depressed by the sudden change in things, he wanted to study.
He wanted to become one of those well-paid employees in one of the finest Govt. Institute.
Alas! His father turned down all his dreams.
Realising his sorrow, his mother came to his rescue.
He was sent to school and she went to work.
After completing his higher secondary education,
He went for graduation and started working part-time.
That's when he started to enjoy his life.
The bliss of living one's dreams,
But the good days were short.
Alcohol changed his destiny,
No, he was not an alcoholic but his father was.
Alcohol has started taking control over his father's mind and body.
The boy, now an adult, was left with only one choice,
Drop out from college and be a full-time worker.
Mother stayed awake day and night to look after her partner.
Days went by, the treatment became more and more essential and expensive at the same time.
They started taking loans to meet the expense of treatment,
No, that was not enough, his mother was forced to leave abroad
To sustain her family and her husband's treatment.
He was left with his younger sister and alcoholic father.
Both of them worked hard to keep the ship going without sinking.
After a few years, father slowly started coming back to reality,
He started going out socializing with friends and other family members.
He was slowly getting over the depression
That came as the result of the prolonged treatment methods and medicines.
Even this happiness was short-lived,
Like every other middle-class family, they were also
Thrown into the dark hands of the economic crisis that followed COVID.
More than the money crisis, it was his father's condition that hurt him the most.
He was asked by the doctors to keep his father inside
As he is weak, he is more prone to the virus they say.
Being locked up again, his father lost all the positivity and energy.
Every day his father asks him, "when will you take me out?"
It hurts him every time he says a no to him.
He asks a question to himself every day,
What is important- my father's physical well-being or mental well-being?
