Spices And Masala Of Indian Cooking

Hello Everyone

Do you love to Cook?  Liked to taste Indian Food?  If yes,

You all should know some Essential Spices of Indian Cooking. Cooking is my Passion. I love to cook Indian Food especially South Indian food. We have used to cook more spices in our cuisines. That is not only for colour, taste and flavour but also has some medicinal benefits too. Here we go to see some of the vital Spices.

Turmeric: Turmeric Powder naturally gives a golden colour to the Food. It builds immunity and protects skin. We have to use this for cleaning meat, fish and some vegetables like cauliflower.   

Cumin: Cumin Seeds are used in many ways in Indian cooking like tempering and extra flavour to the dish you prepare. Can also drink cumin water. It improves our food Digestion.

Coriander Seeds: It gives nice aroma and thickens the gravy/curry. Mostly this is used in powdered form. It reduces the Blood Pressure and LDL Cholesterol level too.

Black Pepper: Black Pepper is used to add extra spices to the food. It gives more benefits like improving digestion, reduce gastric problems. It Combined with Turmeric prevent Cancer too.

Cardamom: Cardamom gives very good essence and tastes to the Dish. It is mostly used in Sweet dishes to improve the flavour of the sweet. We can also add this briyani with whole garam masala to give it a better flavour and taste.

Ginger: Ginger can be used as fresh and dried ginger powder. Fresh Ginger used for making tea, tempering and Non-veg curries combined with Garlic. If we add Ginger in our food, it will balance our Blood Circulation.

Garlic: Garlic doesn't smell that good, but it has more medicinal values and gives a good taste for more dishes combined with Ginger. Garlic is induced to burn our calories. It’s also built immunity.

Fennel Seeds: Fennel is very good aromatic with mild sweetness. We are using this to many dishes to increase the taste and fragrance of the food. It also improves digestion and is also used as a mouth freshener too.

Red Chilly: Red chilly gives extra spice and bright red colour to the food. We love to eat more spicy food. We used this in many dishes for hot and spicy food.

Mustard Seeds: Mustard seeds are used mostly for tempering the food in hot oil. It gives a nice flavour too. We have to use this combined with fenugreek as powdered form and add in all types of pickles to the extra flavour.

Disclaimer: Here I gave information about some of the Indian Spices and masala only. These all my words are only my knowledge about those particular spices, what I heard about that from our Elders.
